When did you start at Firewall?

I started Firewall in January of this year.  

How did you hear about Firewall?

My daughter came to a few teen classes a few years ago with a couple of her friends. 

Why did you decide to join?

I had hip surgery two years ago and knew I needed to start exercising again.  I hadn’t been doing much physical activity for years and was very nervous to get myself back into any type of exercising.  I decided to join Firewall at first because the class schedule worked so well with my own schedule. I have four kids and work as a part-time teacher at Miller School so finding a good time to exercise was a challenge (or more likely my excuse!)

What piece of advice would you give to someone thinking about trying out CrossFit?

Just come! I was SO nervous at first and getting yourself in the door is without question the hardest part but it seriously is a great place!  I would also tell them to not be intimidated by the name CrossFit… I was worried this would be something that I could never do and I thought that all CrossFit members were crazy intense. I can’t speak for all CrossFit gyms but Firewall is a place were everyone motivates and encourages each other for sure!

What’s your favorite part about Firewall?

I love that everyday is different! The workout changes each day so you don’t get bored doing the same thing over and over.

How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?

I no longer feel winded when I run up the stairs! 

Why would you recommend Firewall to a friend?

The people…the coaches are amazing and everyone is so supportive.  

How would you describe the coaching at Firewall?

The coaches at Firewall are awesome!  Such a great group of people who do an amazing job at explaining each movement and providing you with modification options whenever you need them.  It really seems like personal training without being by yourself…it’s so much more fun to be with friends!

How much weight have you lost since joining?

I’ve lost about 18 pounds since starting in January and I still have some more work to get to my goal.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I feel like I’m kind of an open book…not many secrets with me but a few people may not know that I grew up in Holliston and married my highschool sweetheart. 

Would you rather have a New York accent and live in Texas or a Texas accent and live in New York?

Such a weird question…I would probably say a New York accent and live in Texas…I’ve never been to Texas but I’m not really a city girl.  I’m going to stay here in Holliston!
