A collegiate soccer player with years of running experience—including several marathons—as well as participation in several competitions demonstrated Dana’s passion for athletics. But after a series of injuries, Dana began to investigate a more balanced approach to fitness through strength training in combination with functional cross-training. This balanced approach to exercise helped her to avoid injury and develop into a more well-rounded athlete. Dana loves sharing her passion for fitness with others. The Firewall community could not be happier to have her with us!

I’ve played competitive sports my whole life and always considered myself an athlete. When I was introduced to CrossFit my junior year of high school in 2015, I was hesitant at first because it was something so different from what I was used to. But getting out of my comfort zone was the magic of CrossFit. I loved that there are always new ways to challenge myself. I would stay in the gym after the WOD just to learn and practice new movements. When I got it, I felt so accomplished because I didn’t give up.
There’s no better feeling than lifting a PR (personal record) or lying down on the ground drenched in sweat after a hard workout. CrossFit has not only enhanced my athletic performance, but it has also given me a new confidence that I want to share with others.
I look forward to each day in the gym watching individuals feel proud of what they have achieved and continue to strive for. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to coach here and be a part of this strong, positive community and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our members.

“The mind follows the body and the body follows the mind.”
In 2009 I was introduced to CrossFit after 9 shoulder surgeries. “If I can do it, anyone can”. Go hard on your workouts, easy on yourself, and be consistent. I have been a teacher, coach, trainer, and athlete my whole life. I have a passion to help people reach their goals and find health. I retired from 35 years of teaching high school wellness. I worked in the fitness industry along the way. I have a deep belief in nutrition as a foundation to success in fitness, and fitness as the foundation to a functional happy life. I have always played competitive sports and now continue to apply my functional fitness by surfing and rock climbing to a blue mind.

Hi, my name is Nikole Auger, and I am excited to be a new coach at Firewall Fitness! In 2015 I received my personal training certification from the National Federation for Professional Trainers. For the past seven years, I have been coaching adult Bootcamp classes as well as working with athletes from ages 7-18 on strength training. I have also worked privately with adults and athletes of varying ages with varying goals. In addition to coaching Bootcamp classes and working privately with adults and athletes, I am also a full time Kindergarten teacher for Holliston Public Schools. I have worked in the Holliston Public School district for the past 8 years and love being able to share my love for health and fitness with my young students. When I’m not teaching or coaching I enjoy working out, specifically powerlifting, and spending time with family and friends.

Joel found CrossFit in 2016 through his chiropractor, oddly enough not the other way around. In 2018 he made his debut with the CrossFit broadcast team behind the mic at the Latin America Regional. He’s since served as the play-by-play voice for three semifinals and three times at the CrossFit Games. He spent 10 years as the radio voice of the Ball State University Cardinals before moving to Massachusetts, where he now works in branding. An unabashed scaler of workouts (in class and the Open), Joel was 2022’s 79th fittest scaled 35-39 year old male in the world … he counted. His favorite movements are bar muscle-ups and cleans. He despises thrusters, wall walks and wall balls. Most of all, though, he enjoys helping members strategize their plan of attack during WODs and improving their lifts every day.

I was first introduced to CrossFit back in 2013, but it wasn’t until six years later, the fall of 2019, when I went all in. Since then, Crossfit has had a profound impact on my life. It’s been at the root of many positive changes – dropping bad habits, getting stronger, losing nearly 20 lbs and living a happier, more fulfilled life.
It is a privilege to share my passion for fitness and movement with the Firewall Community! I truly believe everyone has the ability to make changes to improve their health, wellness and quality of life, and I feel honored to be able to help people through that journey.
Outside of the gym you’ll catch me working my 9-5 (selling hot tubs around the world), at Coffee Haven (likely on my 3rd cold brew of the day) or walking the Rail Trail with my ladies (my wife Julie, daughter Sophie and puppy Bailey).

I can’t say I’ve been an athlete my whole life. I participated in almost every sport available to me as a kid and into high school, but it wasn’t until I found my love for running in college that I truly appreciated training, pushing myself and competing. After having twins and realizing how much running was taking a toll on my body, I knew I needed something different. My sister had just started CrossFit and convinced me to give it a try. I instantly fell in love and joined. In 2015 I received my CF-L1 and CrossFit Kids Certification and began coaching. In 2022 I received my CF-L2.
As a coach at Firewall, I like to take a very common-sense approach towards movement, modifications and injury prevention working members to their individual potential. I also keep my classes laid-back and fun while playing the best playlists of all the coaches in the gym! I truly believe that, deep within every person – child or adult – there is an indomitable spirit waiting to be set free with the passion that arises when one achieves a hard-fought goal. Nowhere is this more evident than inside the walls of our gym. It’s a pleasure and an honor to be a part of this every day at Firewall.
When I’m not at Firewall, you’ll find me selling Holliston real estate, driving my teenagers everywhere and anywhere, and enjoying time with my husband Patrick and pups, Jake and Bob!

Damon or D-Ball as he is known around the box hails from Waltham and has now lived in Holliston since 2013. Damon found Crossfit in November of 2016 and quickly realized it was something he was very passionate about. Damon, joined Firewall as a founding member and quickly became a fixture in the box. Growing up Damon was very active in sports, which included football, soccer, baseball, lacrosse and hockey. Damon played both lacrosse and hockey at Matignon HS in Cambridge and continued with both sports at NCAA Division III, Curry College in Milton.
After graduating from Curry College with a degree in Communications, Damon got a job at Fidelity Investments. It didn’t take long for him to realize that sitting behind a desk was not for him. In 2004, Damon became a Firefighter on the Waltham Fire Department where he still works full time as Lieutenant on Engine 1. When asked why he wanted to become a Crossfit Coach, Damon responded “I love seeing the community members achieve something they didn’t think was possible, whether it be their first box jump, clean or pull-up and I love being apart of that!”

A lifelong technologist, I discovered CrossFit when I realized I needed to step away from the computer and get in shape. Little did I know the impact it would have on my life, both physically and mentally. Now I love sharing in the journey with others, whether it’s coaching or throwing down in a WOD together.

Health and Wellness has always been a passion of mine. I grew up in Holliston playing Football, Wrestling and Lacrosse. Even in my younger years, I always put my health and training first. This lead to becoming a three sport captain and an All-State Wrestling champion. After high school, I continued my education at Springfield College in the Exercise Science program. I continued my sporting career on the wrestling team in the 184 weight class. After the season, I decided to move on from wrestling and focus on my education and running a CrossFit program for 3 years until my senior year. Throughout that time, I competed in the CrossFit Regionals 2 years in a row, one time as an individual and the other on a team. While competing, I ran my CrossFit program 7 days a week and helped numerous students get involved and stick with a steady workout routine. Senior year, I took on a 950 hour internship at Purdue University working with the Football, Wrestling and Women’s volleyball teams. After college, Firewall Fitness was created and it is a place I can enjoy my passion for helping individuals become their best self. I opened Firewall Fitness with one goal, Giving the people what they want!
